AVHC is committed to bringing choristers to a high level of musical literacy through an integrated program of theory, ear training and sight-singing that is individualized to the skills and the needs of each chorister.  Materials provided are from “A Young Singer’s Journey”, and “The Singing School” programs - both well regarded programs used by youth choirs across Canada.  The program consists of theory workbooks that the singers complete at home at their own pace, as well as ear training and sight-singing activities that are taught in both small and large group instruction and integrated into rehearsals, reinforcing the use of the skills.  In addition to group musicianship, our singers are very lucky to receive tailored one-on-one sight singing coaching!
